They had pitcher tiring rules in the 70’s when I played it. Since the DIDN’T have unusual plays back then, nor rain outs...I found a way to incorporate them into our games. I also switched out those hokey 1-20 split cards with a 20-sided die...Which worked so much better... The 20 sided die was also utilized in the special or unusual plays. Just added a nice little wrinkle without convoluting the statistical accuracy. I took my SOM seriously. I was looking at Sabermetrics even then... Did sabermetrics exist then? No computers to crunch the numbers unless you had a mainframe. I used the cards to, they were a pain. Stratomatic not surprisingly uses 20 sided dice now I did my own version of Sabermetrics before we ever heard the term. There was a difference in that I added BA + OBP + SLG, which I still feel is more accurate than just OBP + SLG, because hits create more value than walks...I was an innovator... (:

Yes! That's why he's a tier one prospect!
8 for his last 15...

I try to imagine a healthy Voit and EE on this team.

I try to imagine a healthy Voit and EE on this team. I'd take a healthy Stanton over both of them.

(: I think BA has elements in it such as ability to drive in runs not caught by OBP. I think OBP plus SLG plus some normalized runs scored (where you control for your RBI's relative to your team) makes more sense.

I try to imagine a healthy Voit and EE on this team. I'd take a healthy Stanton over both of them. He strikes out way to much for me. I don't accept the trade off of power for strike outs. One thing I like about this team is we seem not to strike out as much as in years past.

Trevor Bauer got his clock cleaned again today in the Reds 9-8 loss to the Pirates. Three innings, eight runs, seven earned...

Gardner is glad to see Kershaw out of there and he celebrates with a base hit.
