8 homers in 95 at bats! Ford tough! Amazing what a little confidence will do.

In Happ’s defense, if he gets the strike called a strike, he was out of the second with zero runs. Tough to get four outs an inning. Should be 4-0. I think Happ is out of defenses and excuses. He can show a little mental toughness and get a .200 hitter out instead of giving up a 3 run bomb to CF.

All of these guys are major leaguers and the balls are lively.

Thought I was going to watch the game on ESPN, but I apparently stumbled onto a Ken Griffey, Jr. biopic.

I think major league pitchers, at times are expected to pitch around bad calls, defense or weather. If anything, Happ is the luckiest pitcher in the league, he's 10-8, despite his dreadful 5.66 ERA.

Maybe inger is on to something with Ford? In AAA, Ford raked. He has a clue at the plate. McBroom also has raked at AAA.

Bad calls are like bad bounces. They happen. You have to work around them and good pitchers will.

Very true, but Happ’s struggled with his mechanics all year. And, this season, mistakes are leaving Yellowstone. But, in this particular game, Happ has give up only two hits. One of them the three run homer, following a strikeout that would have ended the inning. It still should be 5-0.
