I don't drink either.

Nothing sad about that. About a half dozen beers a year for me...some years... in many years, it’s zero... Same with me. If not for social situations, it would be zero. Even then, I have to be in the right mood and interested in something specific. Sarah bought every bottle of spirits in the house. She liked the occasional cocktail and to entertain family and friends. I cook with alcohol much more often than I actually drink it. Ruthie likes wine, but we don’t buy it often, either...

Good for you! I had my days of drink and barf in my late teens, early twenties... I don't drink for religious reasons. But I don't think I would drink regardless. It just doesn't appeal to me.

It’s a good thing there is no alcohol in Doritos, though...or nachos. I’d have a problem.

That and DoorDash and GrubHub. So convenient and easy to cheat on the diet.

I can stay away from sugar more effectively than salty snacks, but I do have a weakness for gummy bears and sour treats. My biggest problem is that I love to cook and find it difficult to create smaller amounts.

Holy cow! I thought this board was Yankee Nation. Turns out it's Carrie Nation. Who knew? Guess we not only follow the American League, but the Temperance League as well. Explains why we don't have the occasional drunken rant on the board. Of course, that leaves us without an explanation for some of the posts on here.

I never had any particular reason not to drink, just never learned to.
I read a story today about someone who killed three children while drunk. Given my doubtful judgement I am glad I never learned. I can imagine me doing something stupid and terrible like that, particularly when younger.
In my early twenties I was day dreaming early one morning in a rural road. Coming over a rise I nearly hit a large group of cyclist who had stopped there. That still shakes me up nearly 4 decades later.

We have pretty many rants, you obviously missed all my fits when we play poorly. They just are not drunken rants...

Do not be confused; I am an excellent host, with well stocked coffers to create any delectable libation you may crave. I may even on occasion share a drink with you, I simply never imbibe alone. Since I am most always alone, well, you have the idea.

I'm sure you're a good host and I rarely drink alone myself. Just surprised at all the teetotallers in the group. Well, at least there's Dome and his parrot.
