It’s possible that the Yankees are taking advantage of what Gore Vidal called “The United States of Amnesia.” Even with social media to stoke 24/7 story lines, most Americans only recall the last negative issue. [img class="smile" src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/YNYHoCFKqruGiGxicSWF.gif" alt=" "] Yep. The league the team the player the agent and the union all seem aligned to bury this story. Which can’t be good news. Could be the story that came out was over blown but the league doesn't want to look soft on domestic violence????

No way his agent and the MLBPA would tolerate that for the precedent it sets for other players.

Maybe German is an alcoholic... That would be consistent with how this has been handled, and the fact that the MLBPA and his agent haven't made an issue out of how the Yankees and the league have treated him.

I wonder if the Yankees even had a choice on how German has been handled? I hope he gets help with whatever is wrong with him, he's still a young man and people can change.

So True As fans, we only know so much. When the news came out, we all pretty quickly stood up on judgement against him because we don’t want to condone violence against women. Now we hear there may be a “reason” for the violence. We don’t even know the extent of what happened, so we’re not one bit qualified to judge. I’d rather leave judgement to those who know more and are qualified to judge. I hope whatever happens is fair and just...

Getting philosophical on this board lol

We have a massive judicial process built on the assumption that some are qualified to judge. The alternative, private justice, is a lot worse.
I do not understand why it is taking so long to reach a decision on this. It can not be that complex.

Perhaps pending completion of rehabilitation and/or therapy?... I don’t know what exactly he did, nor do I know what would happen if he didn’t have MLB behind him to offer the help he needs. You have to know more than we know to have an idea of what needs to be done...
