Yeah, Fleury has to be their best goalie ever. It would have been Barrasso before him, but he's far surpassed Barrasso as a Penguin. Yep, Apps was from the blue and white uniform era. As for Ron Francis -- for sure he was a great one. For several years my brother, cousin and I used to meet in Hartford (it was roughly equidistant for each of us) on Super Bowl weekend to watch the Whalers. They played in a mall attached to a Sheraton Hotel so you could just walk down from your room and go past the Spencer's Gifts and Chick-Fil-A and Kay-Bee Toy and Hobby right into the arena. They had Francis and Pat Verbeek and Kevin Dineen and Mike Liut, if you remember those names. The Pens seemed to do a lot of business with the Flyers in those days. Rick Tocchet, Mark Recchi, Ken Wregget and I am sure others. No Orange Julius? I used to love Orange Julius.
Kay-Bee toys was actually named after me.
And I continue to love Chick-Fil-A. Probably my favorite fast food joint in the area since In-N-Out is not here.

We moved 2.5 hours from Chik-Fil-A. When I went to Pueblo for the recall on my Hummer it was a must stop. Sadly, I got there too early for lunch. Had to get the chicken and biscuits. They’re okay, but I actually dig the original chicken patty sandwich, no pickles and a moderate slathering of BBQ sauce, which I also dip my fries in…I ignore the cult-like atmosphere… or try to… 🤓

Get a haircut hippie! "Out of the car, Longhair!" This one made me bust out laughing… I’ve heard a lot of comments about it, but of all this was the best. For the newcomers, I was never allowed to have the long hair many of my class mates had as a teen. I had a moderately long hair cut, but still very conservatively trimmed cut in my twenties. In my thirties and forties I was working for a very conservative company, and in my 50’s I was in a corporate environment. It’s about freedom now…

Get a haircut hippie! I wasn't one of the cool guys in high school, which was a bummer But you should see me now, hair flowing out the window of my bad ass hummer.

I wasn’t, really. It wasn’t all that bad until I hit that angry young man stage… I never did get out of that one…

It wasn’t all that bad until I hit that angry young man stage… I never did get out of that one… There’s a place in the world for the angry young man With his working class ties and his radical plans He refuses to bend He refuses to crawl And he’s always at home With his back to the wall But he’s proud of his scars And the battles he’s fought While he struggles and bleeds As he hangs on his cross And he’ll always be known As the angry young man

Judge is such a cool guy. Guys with even more money, like Tiger Woods, won't even leave decent tips and sometimes none at all.

As I was watching John Cassevetes' film "A Woman Under the Influence" yesterday, I knew I recognized one of the actors, but couldn't place him. Cassevettes never had any money to make movies, so besides the stars, most of the rest of the cast were family, people he knew and people off the streets. It bugged me the whole film, because the guy was in a few scenes and actually had some lines. I watched the closing credits and low and behold, it was Leon Wagner. Daddy Wags was a pretty good hitting first baseman for several teams in the late 50's and 60's. He had an easily recognizable face. In fact, the lead character would refer to him as "Handsome" www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/wagnele01.shtml
