Just spent the last hour in our basement because a Tornado siren went off as a violent storm moved through Chicagoland and into Indiana. A lot of power outages throughout the area but I think we avoided major damage. No upside to tornadoes Chi. Glad things seem to be okay for you and your family.

Wow, Chi. To the basement? Glad you at least have a place to go, buddy. I hate those durned things. There are only F0’s here and those are rare…

Also one in Douglas County later.

Also one in Douglas County later. When I lived north west of Colorado Springs and north of Black Forest I watched a tornado forming above our house. The sky was an odd mixture of green and gray and the two were intermingled and swirling. Somebody further out on the plains probably got hit with that later that night. And I doubt they found it quite as cool to see. No one knows how many tornadoes the eastern plains of Colorado gets because with the sparse population out there only a few are reported…

Thanks for all the kind words, guys!
For us it just turned out to be rough rain storm. Lot's of tree limbs and branches all over the roads and over turned garbage but no one got hurt as far as I know. The same can't be said for some poor woman in Indiana who was killed when a tree fell into her house during the storm.
When I got to my office our phone and internet lines were down, we just know getting things running through a backup source. These storms cause so many problems.

I want to give a shout out to my younger brother Pete on what would have been his 68th birthday. He was a huge Yankee fan who passed away 19 years ago. I was honored to be holding his hand when he died. I think he really would have appreciated that I buried some of his ashes in the Yankee Stadium II Monument Park under Whitey Ford's number. We both were born on a failing Vermont dairy farm, so as I am digging a small hole to put the ashes in, I said "Pete, it ain't where you start in the race, it's where you end up". RIP my brother.

I’ll try to send him a message later… Insanity is not proven by attempting to send him a message. It’s proven if I claim to get an answer…Bit you are so fortunate to have good memories of him. My older brother and I had a tempestuous relationship and he haunts be to this day…
