I didn’t care who would win. Not until the Nationals took the lead and I started seeing all the worried looks on the Astros bench. Hold ‘em, Nats!... I haven’t disliked the Astros except for Gurriel who clearly is an ahole. But the way they and Hinch handled themselves during the Yankees series made me want to root against them. And then the episode with their front office. So definitely was pulling for the Nats to upset the Astros and glad to see that they did. |

You dislike the Nats as much as the hated Astros? It’s worse than dislike...it’s indifference. Like they don’t even count. Just no feeling for them at all. Judging from the crowd at the Nats game I attended this spring, their fans feel about the same as you do about the Nationals. |

AJ Hinch is an idiot. Cole is... confusing? I don't get the hat thing. Was it because he didn't get the call to pitch? If so, why did he have the hat to begin with? Was it planned out win or lose? The hat/comments just seem... I guess stupid?
Oh well, he's a great pitcher and that's really all that matters...

Cole didn’t take long to separate himself. He’s team Boros now. Complete mercenary. Just like when he was drafted, a complete sense of entitlement. Maybe that’s good for us. I can take or leave him, to be honest. Today’s greatness is tomorrow’s over paid mediocrity. There are pitchers who peak at his age, some peak even earlier, and some remain effective or even become more effective late in their careers. It’s all very unpredictable. Anything longer than five years carries a ridiculous amount of risk... If I were a team owner, I’d want to offer ridiculous annual values for short term deals, maybe one to three years...Don’t know if the players would bite, but I’d try it... |

I thought of you tonight, Kay. The temperature dropped into the 30s here, and I thought, “Man, some French Onion Soup would be good about now! Hey, Kaybli’s favorite!”  We’re getting 5 degrees tonight...Back up to 40 tomorrow though... Hey guys! We hit (-5) early this morning. Just the third time I can recall it being that cold where I was living at the time. Also had a (-5) the first night I spent in Kentucky, and had a nasty (-24) once when I was a teenager living in MD. |
