Mitch Garver has hit 31 HR this year in a similar number of at bats in 2018 he hit 7. That has to be one of the most shocking increases in HR production outside of the steroid seasons, especially since he’s not ever had a full season of games/at bats to be measured by.
It’s like Minnesota has their own Gary Sanchez, only Garver is already 28. He claims that he worked like a dog over the winter because his combination of a mediocre bat and mediocre defense was a recipe for his career to end within the next couple of seasons.
He’s supposedly become a much better pitch framer after being ranked dead last in that aspect out of all catchers in 2018...

We should consider that:
Berrios allowed 12/13 stolen bases in 2019. Garver allowed 31/37 Castro allowed 29/36...
Anyone capable should have the green light whenever logic allows...Tyler Wade could become an important piece...off the bench...Brett and Aaron...I’m a bit reticent to send Maybin. He still runs well, yet... against tomorrow’s battery...I might do that...

Only in 2019 baseball folks, only in 2019 baseball.

Paxton allowed 7/11 to steal Sanchez 30/41 Romine 23/33
The league average is a 73% success rate. Sanchez finished at 77% and Romine at 70%.
The Yankees are much better equipped to stop the running game in this matchup, we should keep that in mind...

More stolen base information. The Twins stole only 28 bases in 2019, getting caught 21 times. Byron Buxton was 14/3. Without Buxton, the rest of the team was 14/18. Caught more than successful. Let’s date them to run...

Guess who was 7-1; 2.76 in his last 11 starts for Minnesota this year? If you guessed Michael Pineda, go ahead and laugh along with me as we celebrate the stupidity of his violation of the MLB drug enforcement policy... that has definitely pulled a very important piece of their rotation out of play...

Houston is thumping the Rays, 6-2 going into the bottom of the eighth in Houston. Is Verlander human? He allowed no runs, one hit through seven innings...

Recently unlucky, but what of his last 51 games? He’s batted .267, but with only 4 HR and 17 RBI... and that’s with a .400 BABIP...I’m just concerned that he’s not physically right. I hope I’m wrong and he’s simply overdue to breakout... At least he has hit 13 doubles in those 51 games...
