I think.. and I have no extensive data to back this up, just a gut feeling.. Andujar is more likely to improve with the glove than Urshela is likely to maintain his offensive improvements of 2019. I think Andujar has a special bat, even though I recently read an article saying pretty much he had amazing luck in 2018.. I think the juiced baseball had a lot to do with Gio's offensive in 19.. Andujar + Juiced Ball = Most extra base hits in a season??? I really wish we had an opportunity to witness that. I remember when I was all for Drury at 3rd and Kaybli convinced me of how good Andujar was... and ever since then I've been a believer!!! At that point, probably halfway through 2018 season, I thought Andujar was just on a hot streak and he wasn't showing his true skills... but then... Andujar DID go on a hot streak and I was just like WOW!!!

If we can keep them both and let them duke it out... that could be fun...

If we can keep them both and let them duke it out... that could be fun... I would think that's what the plan is... it'd be pretty silly otherwise...

But Andujar spent 6 years in the minor leagues playing 3B and never became really good, then a year in the majors plodding along, then had surgery on his right shoulder.

But Andujar spent 6 years in the minor leagues playing 3B and never became really good, then a year in the majors plodding along, then had surgery on his right shoulder. But... but... there is nothing more pleasant than a nice warm pile of guts... Things I like about Andujar in the field: Sure-handed Makes the play on everything he gets to Strong arm on routine plays Things I don’t like: Little lateral movement to either side When using his lateral movement, tends to sling the ball to first base. Foot work gets crossed up. Most correctible fault: Raising arm position Foot work Hardest to correct: Lack of lateral movement 3B I recall with defensive struggles in first MLB season: Wade Boggs Mike Schmidt Butch Hobson Boggs became average. Schmidt became great. Hobson never got any better... So much has to do with physical limitations, and so much with the amount of work one is willing to do. I loved to play outfield. Sometimes I had to play infield, and I stunk at it. I went to a place that had an irregular concrete wall that I could throw a superball against it. Where I had to play for the ball was a concrete pad. I taught myself to catch odd ricochets in the air and on the ground while sprawling on concrete without getting hurt. I never got really good in the infield, but I got better. After sprawling on concrete (in short pants, too!) dirt was a snap!... Work, Miguel. Work...

I read the other day the Yankees are over the salary cap which will make deals harder (I thought we were below it).

I read the other day the Yankees are over the salary cap which will make deals harder (I thought we were below it). It only makes deals harder if they continue to behave the way they have the past few seasons. If the owners take the gloves off then the deals get easy... Do I think the gloves are coming off? Nah. I think they’ll stay the course...in the long run that may be for the best...

Hopefully it will prevent Stanton like decisions that hurt the team for years to come (or Ellsbury or the resigning of Arod).

Aren't we only burdened with the Ellsbury contract one more year?

Aren't we only burdened with the Ellsbury contract one more year? Yup. 21 million for this year and then another 5 million dollar buyout for next year.
