Blake Snell fumes after Rays trade Tommy Pham for ‘slapd–k’ prospect Xavier Edwards
[img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif" class="smile" alt=" "] What exactly is a slapdick prospect? Is it positive or negative in connotation? More specifically, what does slap-dick mean? Is it more commonly an adjective, like the headline above? Is it also a noun, too? It sounds like an action verb really, but then which of the two words defines the action and needs conjugation to change tense? Is it within the OED? You gotta get with the scene, bro. Mr. Snell should be quite the expert in such lingo, having been some measure of prospect from 2011-2016. I’m sure there are phases. Pinch-nipple. Slap-dick. Fondle-nuts. Kiss-ass. I’m usually impressed when a grown man with millions of dollars in the bank films himself playing video games. What a great time for him to get the news, when we can get his immediate reaction. In an off way, he was showing support for his outgoing team mate. Also giving a less than warm hello to the guys he’ll actually be going into battle with this year. No big deal. They’ll all sit down and play video games and have a good laugh over it. Unless Snell has another season in 2020 like the one he had in 2019. Kind of a slap-dick year, I’d say. In fact, other than 2018, kind of a slap-dick career...

Larry Rothschild is the Padres new pitching coach. That didn't take long.

Strasburg is heading back to The Nats. That contract number looks like the same figures that the Yanks are rumored to have offered Cole.

I love it when players spend a career with one team. Yes, a team being able to keep their superstars is good for the game.

Didi Gregorius signs a one year deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. Well, that’s that. He still has some good baseball left in him, but as the old saying goes... better a year too early than a year too late. I hope he does well. Guess this opens up SS for Andujar... lol...

Well, we now have a gold glover at second base everyday in LeMahieu. Torres can concentrate at shortstop, which is his primary position. Honestly, I always thought Torres would end up at second as he fills out. He’s already stocky and isn’t exactly swift of foot. I look for Wade to win the bench role, as he can play anywhere except pitcher and catcher, plus he’s a base stealing threat off the bench.

Torres can always be moved back to second in his more mature seasons...Or be allowed to leave ala’ Didi...
