Well, that’s that. He still has some good baseball left in him, but as the old saying goes... better a year too early than a year too late. I hope he does well. Guess this opens up SS for Andujar... lol... Well, we now have a gold glover at second base everyday in LeMahieu. Torres can concentrate at shortstop, which is his primary position. Honestly, I always thought Torres would end up at second as he fills out. He’s already stocky and isn’t exactly swift of foot. I look for Wade to win the bench role, as he can play anywhere except pitcher and catcher, plus he’s a base stealing threat off the bench. Personally, I would do that - let Torres and DJ have regular roles and let Wade make the club as the super sub. |

Sounds like Boras was going heavy on the Scotch after looking at his cut of the Cole deal.
I don't know what his percentage is, but he has to be raking in a lot more than any of his clients.

Reportedly his firm gets 5%. I know most fans dislike him but he’s very good at what he does. For sure he doesn't come across as a loveable guy -- he seems insufferably smug -- but if I were an athlete going for the top dollar I think I'd want him in my corner. He doesn't win every battle, but he has a pretty good winning percentage. We sure hear his name more than that of any other agent. |
