I guess the price was too high for us but I'll be sad to see Dellin go. Last of the great Killer B's.

I guess the price was too high for us but I'll be sad to see Dellin go. Last of the great Killer B's. I doubt it was price. Two major injuries in one year is reason for pause. They might have offered him a rehab deal but I doubt he would take that from the Yanks after years of being told he wasn’t good enough to close so he shouldn’t be paid like a closer, when he was their best relief pitcher. Good luck to him. I hope hes healthy and he dominates this season and gets that one big contract.

The ChiSox keep plugging. They've been as active as just about any team this off-season.

I read a Tweet earlier this morning (I tried to find it again, but couldn't) that said the Yanks were willing to give Andujar and Garcia to the Brewers for Hader, but the Brewers were holding out for an additional piece such as Gil, Schmidt or Florial. As my old Vermont dairy farmer grandfather used to say about any item he wanted to buy at a garage sale, "Don't you think the price is a little high?" Of course, he'd say that if the price was a nickel.

The Yankees don't need another reliever, even if it's a great one, like Hader. If you're going to give up a package like that, it should be for a starter or a left handed bat.

He just needs to go away. He’s the king of useless hangers on. The legacy of George Steinbrenner that we have these kinds of windbags still involved with the team.

The Cubs traded Torres++ to the Yankees for Chapman. Hader is probably worth Andujar and Garcia. Andujar is coming off of surgery and has big defensive questions. Garcia is a good, not great, pitching prospect who might wind up as a reliever (or as a nobody). Hader is a proven star who would allow for the Yankees to comfortably trade away another reliever. Would the Yankees like to add Hader and jettison Britton and his huge contract? Would the Cubs be interested in Zack Britton in a deal for....Ian Happ? Lose Andujar and Britton, gain Hader and Happ? Saves money, adds positional flexibility, adds a LH bat. Sounds good to me.

What would happen in the happenstance of trading J.A. Happ for Ian Happ? Would that make us happy? Happiness can be so elusive...
