If I was a Red Sox fan this would piss me off so much. He’s the most gifted athlete they’ve had since Nomar. If the Yanks deal Judge for the same reasons that’s a failure of management to properly plan. He’s better than Nomar in that he doesn’t use HGH. But, you’re correct. Doesn’t Boston have the highest ticket and concession prices in MLB? I’d be ticked off. He’s the face of the franchise. I don’t know if that’s true but it wouldn’t surprise me. The concessions seem more expensive at YS to me and some seats are but because it is smaller I think there are fewer cheap seats at Fenway. Completely agree. I don’t know how the town will respond to management waiving the white flag in spring training and announcing a rebuilding year. My guess is enough of the pink hat fans show up just for the experience but they lose tv ratings and some games end up half empty if they’re instantly fighting for fourth place with a roster of guys nobody knows.

Looks like Betts & Price are going to LA. Though I'm happy Betts is leaving Boston, I wish they weren't able to unload Price's contract. I'm not sure if the whole Price contract is going to be taken by the Dodgers or if Boston will pay part of it yet.

Apparently from MLBTradeRumors:
The Red Sox will pay down significant cash on Price’s contract

Looks like Betts & Price are going to LA. Price only pitched 4.2 innings after July 30. Woukdn’t it become interesting if he failed the physical?...

8:40pm: The Twins are acquiring right-hander Kenta Maeda and sending top pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol to the Red Sox, tweets Rosenthal. 8:36pm: Prized Dodgers right-hander Dustin May is not involved in the trade, tweets Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. 8:29pm: In a stunning development, Rosenthal tweets that if the Betts deal is completed, Joc Pederson will go to the Angels. It’s not clear whether that’s a separate trade or yet another layer to this same transaction, but it’s a fascinating ripple effect regardless of how it’s technically structured. 8:26pm: The Twins are indeed the third team in the trade, tweets USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
8:13pm: The Dodgers and Red Sox are in agreement on a trade that would send Mookie Betts and David Price from Boston to Los Angeles, reports ESPN’s Jeff Passan (via Twitter). The deal is pending review of medical records for the involved players. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal previously reported that Alex Verdugo will be the centerpiece going back to Boston and also indicated that a third team could be involved in the deal.

I'm surprised the Twins just traded this for Maeda.
