As per my previous statement I think the penalty is far to limited to prevent other teams doing this in the future. They need to ban those involved (put them on the permanent ineligible list) and change the rules so a team that does this in the future forfeits the right to be in the play offs for one year once the offense is discovered.
I doubt MLB, which views this as a minor thing apparently will give meaningful punishment.

In the end fans won't accept the Astros won. Regardless of the cowardliness of MLB that works. MLB showed, if there ever was any doubt, they will take no meaningful action to punish teams that cheat.

When we play the Cheating Astro's, Judge needs to be introduced as "And the real winner of the 2017 MVP award..."
This is sick. What is sicker is MLB defending them.
IT will BLOW UP in their faces. My prediction is it will get ugly.
It will be similar, but MUCH worse, to the kneeling in the NFL thing (of course.)

So maybe, just maybe this is a sign that the Astros were way over the top. Maybe this scandal won’t lead back to most of the teams in baseball. Maybe it was mostly lead by Cora and Beltran...Sadly, A.J. Hinch may have been collateral damage. There usually is some collateral damage when evil takes over. Managing a baseball team is more or less middle-management these days... and middle management tends to be quite powerless. I still hope Houston’s upper management gets some sort of punishment, but it’s hard for a commissioner to punish his employer... |
