There was a British singer named Chris Rea (and pronounced Re-ah) who had a hit in the late 70s called "Fool (If You Think It's Over." Don't know if any of you remember it, it fell into the rather soft-rock genre. He had a lot of hits in Europe, but we weren't buying him much in the US after that one. |

Don't know if any of you remember it, it fell into the rather soft-rock genre. He had a lot of hits in Europe, but we weren't buying him much in the US after that one. Rea has a pretty nice voice. I think “Fool” was a good listen, but it’s repetitiveness made it short lived... |

It was from 1978 and got a lot of airtime amidst the disco stuff. That disco stuff was tough to take. The Bee Gees transformed from listenable music into Dave Seville’s Chipmunks. So many acts jumped on that bandwagon. I was disgusted that Rod Stewart climbed aboard, though when I listen to “Do’ya Think I’m Sexy” or the lesser appreciated “Passion” now I think those two bold up better than most of the disco genre... Back to Rea, his voice had just enough of a scratchy quality on some notes to catch my ear, but I never really became a major fan... |

One day he comes up to me and goes "I heard you got a nickname for me" and I go "yeah... YOU DOWN WITH OMT!" and he said something like "yeah I bust balls so I gotta get mine busted too" or some crap... I was like "you were supposed to say YEAH YOU KNOW ME"
He obviously didn't get the reference... |
