Really! An asterisk should have eight points. How cheesy is that?...

You think they would have enforced these before.

Ex-Astros slugger Evan Gattis says they deserve scorn for sign-stealing: We 'cheated' baseball and fans
"Everybody wants to be the best player in the f---ing world, man…and we cheated that, for sure, and we obviously cheated baseball and cheated fans," Gattis said, according to the New York Post. "I'm not asking for sympathy or anything like that. If our punishment is being hated by everybody forever, just like whatever. I don't know what should be done, but something had to f---ing be done. I do agree with that, big-time. I do think it's good for baseball that we're cleaning it up…And I understand that it's not f---ing good enough to say sorry. I get it."
The Post has a full collection of Gattis quotes to dive into, including him beating back against the narrative that Carlos Beltran "made" young players go along with the scheme, but one other noteworthy comment we'll touch on is him saying he has no problem with Mike Fiers, the Oakland Athletics and former Astros pitcher who publicly blew the whistle on the Astros' wrongdoing last November.
"He had something to say, so he had to f---ing say it and then we had to get punished," Gattis said. "Because if not, then what? It'd f---ing get even more out of control. I mean, it's a tough subject. Yeah, I think a lot of people feel duped, and I understand that."

The apology and honesty is appreciated. The language reflects a lack of social intellect...That’s the same intellect that was lacking in the first place, the one that allows these guys to think they’re Teflon and will get away with whatever they do. And for the most part, they have.

He is not on Houston now, which is probably related to his honesty.

He is not on Houston now, which is probably related to his honesty. He retired. While he hit 26 HR with the super-charged baseball last season, his BA dropped to .226 and his OBP was under .300. He’s 32. Maybe his body is just telling him it’s over...Not everything has to be conspiratorial...

Interesting take...If the penalties are to be this light, I don’t see them as a detriment. The message isn’t so much “don’t cheat” as it is “make sure you cover your cheating up better”. It’s still simple risk/reward, like any law of the land. If the punishment is light, people will take the risk. Maybe if I go out and rob a bank, and I hit it just at the right time, I won’t have to work anymore in my life. But if I get caught, I might be suspended from bank robbing for a year... Might just be worth it...

what a joke. It is clear this commissioner does not care about offenses against the game.

From rotoworld:
Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that Alex Bregman is seeking a new agent. Bregman has parted ways with Brodie Scoffield of Klutch Sports and is currently conducting interviews for new representation. Apparently the split had a lot to do with LeBron James -- who is now associated with Klutch Sports -- launching a documentary series about the Astros' sign-stealing scandal as part of his Uninterrupted media platform.
Doofus.
