Are you still doing your movie podcast with your friend? Yep. Two for the Road: Movies with Matt and Adam. The latest episode's theme was "the movie process" and we watched two films about making movies. We watched Fellini's masterpiece "8 1/2" and "Black Bear", with Aubrey Plaza in the starring role. Next we're watching two Hal Hartley films. He made some pretty good indie movies in the 90's. Nice! Can you give me the link again so I can watch or listen to them?

I'm watching The Caine Mutiny and the first third of the film is much more melodramatic than I remember. Some of the best courtroom scenes ever. Definitely one of Bogart's greatest performances. I watched William Friedkin's 2023 version and Kiefer Sutherland did a fantastic job in the role of Captain Queeg. I believe it was Friedkin's last film. By the way, the 54' version has some terrible special effects. "And now we come to the man who should have stood trial. The Caine's favorite author. The Shakespeare whose testimony nearly sunk us all." "Tell them, Keefer." "No, you go ahead. You're telling it better." "He never even heard of Capt Queeg."

I've always like Kiefer Sutherland. When I saw this movie I was mad because it made Kiefer look like suck a sissy. I guess that what makes him a good actor.

I've always like Kiefer Sutherland. His father, Donald Sutherland, is a huge baseball fan...Expos/Blue Jays. I happened to be in Cooperstown one year when he was filming a documentary about the history of the game/HOF. Talked briefly with him...good guy.

Peggy Dow was in show business for only 3 years appeared in 9 films a couple of TV shows. She went to LSU before she was in show business and retired to marry a wealthy oilman and ended up raising 5 sons. Harvey is my favorite Jimmy Stewart role.

For pre-game I'm watching "Attack" on TCM, a movie I've never heard of, but any film that has Lee Marvin, Jack Palance and Eddie Albert in it, I'm watching.

I really like "Attack". All the lead actors were excellent, but Palance was the standout. I wish I had a still photo of him after he gets run over by a tank and later dies. His eyes and mouth are both wide open in a macabre sort of way. Lee Marvin was a marine in WW II who was wounded and spent a year in the hospital. He had great acting career and appeared in many famous films like The Dirty Dozen, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Cat Ballou. He won an academy award for best actor playing two parts in Cat Ballou. My favorite film of his was Sam Fuller's "The Big Red One".
