I had to do it: Sorry, I don't know why this picture is so small. View AttachmentMan, look at that sweet swing. Why'd we ever let him go?😅

Inger, I think you and I are the only ones here who could recall that grouping.
I won't go all Murry Dickson on you, but I do remember having his Yankee baseball card back in the day.
He was born in 1916, and as far as I know he is the furthest-back by birthdate of any player I can actually remember seeing.
Unless you count Satchel Page with his brief Charlie Finley moment in the mid-60s.

I think the Yankees as an organization were always pretty clever about finding guys that were done as full time starters, but were still valuable contributors of the bench...

I didn't have Murray Dickson, but have used him in a online SIM league. This thread is so great. I don't remember half these guys, but I've been under some pretty good medication for the past 3 years.

Anybody remember the Beatles and Monkees trading cards? I never had any, but I recall some being around...

CONFESSION: When I first saw this thread, I noticed that the last poster had been pipps. I thought we were going to have a reveal and Pipps was going to tell us his actual identity and that he had once played for the Yankees.
Why not? He’s done everything else!... (:
