I guess the idea of 70-year-olds naked and wallowing in the mud trying to hear a deaf Country Joe MacDonald or David Crosby performing wasn't such a saleable idea after all. The original Woodstock was mostly PR mythology anyway. The target audience OD'd years ago. I always heard that if you got the chicks muddy enough they all looked good...

But to your comments above, Crosby’s last album is in my opinion one of his best. I don’t think he planned to plate woodstock59 but I would gladly pay to hear him perform.

Supposedly he was one of a handful from the original -- others were Country Joe, John Fogerty and John Sebastian -- who had agreed to play at 50. I guess nobody asked Sha Na Na. Considering the life he has led, nobody 50 years ago would ever have imagined David Crosby would still be around and recording in 2019. As far as I know, CSN&Y are all still among the living. Being an antique myself,my favorite Crosby work was from his Byrds days.

You got some good ones there, kaybli! Was never a big fan of Toto in my younger days, but i saw their guitar player, Steve Lukather (?) playing with Ringo Starr's band about 3 years ago. That guy was unbelievable. One of the best players I've ever seen. Maybe THE best. Played some Santana songs (because one of the band members had been with Santana) and I'm not sure he didn't do them better than Carlos Santana. I went home after watching that and took my guitar off the wall....and put it in its case.

Toto's Africa has a bit of resurgence in past few years with the music streaming world. It was a big hit in the early 80's, when it first came out, but I had forgotten about for years, but now it's back. I just checked on Spotify and Africa has over 500,000 million plays...that's a lot for a 30 year old song.

I hardly know any Toto songs besides Africa but I do love the Beatles (who doesn't?) and Santana.

Dax Shepard (not a fan) and Kristen Bell (she cute) did a video with it during their trip to Africa:

I don’t know what it is about “Africa”, but it hooked me the first time I ever heard it, and the barbs have remained in my skin. Just such a great riff, and like kaybli, I find that hook so singable. Sometimes, after I step out of the shower I’m shocked I don’t have screaming fans groping me...

Sometimes, after I step out of the shower I’m shocked I don’t have screaming fans groping me... Its definitely the best song to sing in the shower.
