From CNN, Ann Wilson of Heart is stopping her current tour due to cancer treatment
Ann Wilson of Heart says she has “much more to sing” but is taking some time off to focus on her health.
The “Barracuda” singer, 74, announced on X on Tuesday that she recently underwent an operation and “as it turns out, (it) was cancerous.”
She assured fans the procedure was successful and she’s feeling great, “but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it.”
Wilson added her doctors are instructing her “to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”
The band, made up of Wilson and her sister Nancy, among others, was in the middle of their “Royal Flush Tour,” which was scheduled to run into mid-December.
Concert dates are now listed as postponed, but Wilson assured ticket buyers that her team “is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.”
In her announcement, Wilson said, “I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025,” adding, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”
I remember Heart opening for The Beach Boys 1977 tour. I saw them perform at the old Spectrum in Philadelphia. They really put on a great show.

I think Ann Wilson covers Led Zeppelin songs about as well as any singer I've ever heard, She just has an amazing singing voice. Hopefully she recovers.

Heart was on one of the late-night shows just a few months ago. Ann Wilson was in great voice singing "Barracuda." She actually looked better than she has in years, back when they so obviously shot her music videos to camouflage her weight gain. I loved their early stuff like "Magic Man" and "Crazy On You" but in some ways one of my favorites of their hits was "Dreamboat Annie." I didn't like it so much later when they became over-produced on songs like "Alone" and "What About Love." Any interview I've seen with Ann Wilson she seems really down-to-earth and doesn't take herself too seriously. As you said Chi, an amazing voice.

The Wilson sisters opening for the Wilson brothers! That had to be part of the marketing pitch. There were so many great concerts at The Spectrum.

One of the best female rock singers of this generation. My favorite Heart song is: If You Love Me Like Music, I'll Be Your Song. Also off the Dreamboat Annie record.Saw them about 1978. Opening band was Firefall who had a couple decent hits at the time.

"You Are The Woman" and "Just Remember I Love You" and "Strange Way" and a few other soft rockers. I think those songs would have all been around when you saw them.
