The early albums are great. The transitional "Rubber Soul" / "Revolver" albums are considered by many, including myself, to be one album released back-to back. We are in agreement Bob. Another pretty good one was "Yesterday And Today" which was released just before those two in the US but there was no such album in the UK because Capitol typically had fewer cuts than the UK albums so bits and pieces could be scraped together and another album could be squeezed out. I think that stopped with "Rubber Soul" because the albums became too much of an integrated concept. Yep. If I had to choose my "favorite" Beatles song it'd be "Nowhere Man". "And Your Bird Can Sing" would be in the Top 10.

Correct...it's a compilation of "Mean Mr. Mustard / "Polythene Pam" / "She Came In Thru The Bathroom Window" / "Golden Slumbers" / "Carry That Weight". And it works...beautifully. Absolutely. From "Abbey Road", which was the last album The Beatles recorded (although not the last released.) That medley started with "You Never Give Me Your Money" and ended, appropriately enough, with "The End." From anything I have read, George Martin had a lot to do with putting those fragments together. Kind of a moving final act for The Fab Four. Cocker covered another song from that album, George Harrison's "Something." Mighty good entry from him. “Something”, which Joe Cocker sang in a falsetto with a significant vibrato had a beautiful, haunting sort of exquisiteness to it…

BTW...just got back from Sedona. Nice. Did you feel the spiritual vortex in any way? Crestone, CO., if it ever had it, has lost it to the new construction and bit more hurried pace it’s grown into…

BTW...just got back from Sedona. Nice. Did you feel the spiritual vortex in any way? Nope...can't expect that with off-season prices. But the scenery's still good, regardless.

BTW...just got back from Sedona. Beautiful. One of my favorite areas of the US. And lots of good day trips from there.

I don't know if anyone cares but apparently Oasis is back together. For how long, we'll see.... I thought some of their songs were okay, but I just don't like the whining voice of Liam Gallagher. Although I realize whining voices were popular in the 90s. He was clearly channeling John Lennon on some of his stuff. I was surprised in looking up their Billboard charts that they only had one Top 40 in the US -- the unavoidable "Wonderwall" -- but they had 25 songs that went Top 10 in the UK. You don't usually see such a discrepancy between the US and UK charts. Although they seemed to get plenty of airplay here.

"We Can Work It Out" was obviously a huge hit, but that's another solid one. The material just kept flowing.

The brothers' antics and hate for each other over the years though might be more entertaining than their music.

There have been lots of Brotherly Hate acts going at least as far back as Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey in the big band era. The Everly Brothers weren't on speaking terms for almost 20 years. The Fogerty Brothers from Creedence Clearwater Revival were also estranged for a long time.

Barry White would have been 80 today. I recently heard for the first time his version of Billy Joel’s “Just the Way You Are” on you tube. Not bad…
