They really mishandled ol' Sonny. His splits were awful at home. Different pitcher on the road. Sonny was another Ed Whitson and Javy Vasquez...anywhere but the Bronx. Some just cannot handle Pinstripes and New York. Yea I think it was a little of both. Larry Rothschild did him no favors. |

Whether it was right or wrong, Sonny called out the Yankees pitching staff for trying to change his pitching style:

Should have signed Charlie Morton instead of Happ. Or try a different pitching coach with Sonny Gray before they gave up on him. Gray's been one of the best pitchers in baseball since he was traded by Cashman. Some players can't play in Yankee stadium |
