Watch the developing story being revealed of how the political agenda of the activist Big10 commissioner drove the decision to cancel B10 football in the hopes of swinging the election to the left. Google some of the recent stories on Warren and his political agenda. How the Hell has Sports become a conduit for political shenanigans? Anyone who bases their vote on whether or not a sports event is being played... I just don’t know where to go with that statement ernesto. Yet, I don’t doubt what you’re saying. His assumption was that anger over the allegedly mismanagement of the covid19 pandemic would generate anger against Trump, and since the B10 schools include key swing states, that voter anger would be enough to swing the election to the left. I think the reality is maybe not what Warren expected. He did not anticipate the backlash from some universities, players, and parents of players. There is genuine anger by fans in those key states who see the SEC, ACC, and Big12 continuing on plans to play football. They are instead blaming Warren and the Universities for cancelling. How that works out in the election remains to be seen. If those other conferences play, I think Warrens political calculus will have failed.

Warren is a registered Republican. His dream job is commish of the NFL, which will never happen. He is the former exec with the Vikings. He is what you would call an "ass kisser". The B10 not playing is all on Presidents and Boards of these schools. They told him what they wanted and he did it knowing that every AD and Coach wanted to play. Even a few Presidents. His arrogance is why he is taking all the heat during this whole process. He will either have the job for life or be run out of town on a rail. Depends on how the public responds to this new proposal for the weekend after Turducken Day in domes.

Please google "Kevin Warren Big10 Politics" and you will get a number of recent stories depicting his hope of swing the election by use of his position. My point is that using sports for political reasons should be out of bounds. For either side. Sports should be where we all, liberals and conservatives, any color etc., can unite in cheering for good old State U, or for their opponent. Do players, or celebrities, or politicians think they can change minds by some form of protest? My guess is for every mind they change one way, there is another changed the other way, mostly because they resent being told in a game what and how they should think. Thanks for your post. It was a good one.

What a great start to the football season. It is a 10-6 game at the half. Austin Peay came out in the first play from scrimmage, with a full-house backfield, and ran a counter-option play that went for 70 plus yards and a TD. The runner was weaving back and forth leaving defenders grabbing at air. My wife, who really knows little about the game, had a terrific comment after he scored. She said "The defenders were doing social distancing."
I laughed. I so much hope that the conferences that are planning to play can complete their schedule. Either way, the damage to the Big10 and PAC12 is monumental. Iowa has revealed they will need to borrow 75M dollars and it will take 15 years of normalcy to return to their 2019 financial status. This after also cutting some men's and women's programs. Other schools have not announced to my knowledge, but all will be impacted financially, to say nothing of recruiting and future TV contracts, etc.

Kitty was quite obviously the owner of a Saloon and house of ill repute. Yet, she stayed a virgin... Matt, too. He needed to keep his energy to fight crime. He had amazing strength, able to knock people out with a single backhand... 😂

I remember being with a group, playing ball or something, and someone would say "I need to get home to watch Gunsmoke."

I remember being with a group, playing ball or something, and someone would say "I need to get home to watch Gunsmoke." I actually think my mom had fantasies about James Arness. Her truest love appeared to be Roy Rogers. Does that mean she was cheating on him watching Gunsmoke? I was quite confused by Roy Rogers as a boy. First, why wasn’t his wife Dale Rogers instead of Dale Evans? And why did he have such a dowdy-looking wife, anyway? I watched the show a few times as an adult and was struck by how dreadful the acting was... I think I watched because my mother watched that one. I think I enjoyed it because she told me it was good. And what was with that friend that was always hanging around and played grab-ass with the driver’s side of that Jeep most of the time? I never liked shows that combined a lot of horse riding along with cars. Give me one or the other. Tried watching Yellowstone. First motor vehicle I was done with it. Over! Bye. See you Costner...

ahhh. Roy Rogers a.k.a. Leonard Sly. I got a present of a Roy Rogers gun and holster once. I liked the name of his imaginary ranch, the Double R Bar. I was meh about Dale. I always thought then that the cowboys should be celibate and dedicated to wiping out the bad guys and doing good to the weak.
Speaking of Costner, there is a great western starring Costner and Robert Duvall titled "Open Range". If you haven't seen it, I urge you to watch it as you're evidently a western fan.

I’ve seen Open Range like maybe 4,243 times and would watch it again. I’ve seen Eastwood’s famous trilogy at least the same number of times, and will continue to watch them and Gunsmoke when I’m a speck of dust floating around. I plan to stick to TV screens after my passing...

And, she was secretly in love with Chester. Most people believe Chester walked with a hop because of a bad leg; not true.
