Its an argument that 1) Covid is dangerous for young people which some who support playing deny 2) that no student should be at the university period which those who support playing likely deny as well (say President Trump) Gee Whiz. How are the young people going to be safer if they are home and doing their usual socializing? That defies logic.

It assumes that if they are not out partying on campus they will get covid 19 less. Partying is what universities primarily do.

Some blowouts and some good games from todays schedule. I suppose now most of the players and staff will die (sarcasm).
I see the PAC12 is planning to start when rapid testing systems are in place. Good for them. The B10 was once a proud and strong football conference. This is what inept and foolish leadership looks like.

Youth is going to play and party pretty much wherever they congregate... Speak for yourself. I read books Was that read, as in I will read a book today, or is it read as in, I read many books in my youth? Because the way I count, youth is something you are no longer qualified for, even though I am your senior and do qualify if I wish... I’m much more immature than you! ...

UAB vs Miami game is interesting. How great it is to have college football again. Saturday has a very good slate of games to view. I am impressed by the health protocols the conferences that are playing have adopted. It is working.

Let's hear it for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns! They knocked of previously 23rd ranked Iowa St in Ames. So, they get the pay check for traveling to Iowa St. and takes home the victory too.

Yeah. It was a very interesting game. The Big12 lost a second game to a mid-level team when Kansas State went down to Arkansas State. It is so darned good to be able to watch college football again. I wonder if the viewership on the NFL games will be down as much as the first game Thursday? The NFL better pay attention to the bedrock of their fan base or make their politicking more interesting to attract a different fan base. Who knows, the era of Sports as a major part of the American experience may become more of a minor part. I haven't watched the NFL for the last few years, and am off any watching of the NBA. All I have left is college football and the Yankees.

Hoping THE VICTORY is the ONLY THING they take home!!! The Cajuns will get a very nice check. The TV money is so important to Universities, and a tragic loss for the conferences that opted out. So many people being adversely affected, players in minor sports seeing their programs eliminated, staff layoffs, communities that depend on the millions of dollars flowing into their area as a result of home games closing business and laying off. There are so many being hurt, it will take a decade or more to recover the losses of this year, if ever.

Hoping THE VICTORY is the ONLY THING they take home!!! I was surprised that there have been fans at these games, I thought the stadiums were going to be empty. There was only about 15,000 to 20,000 at each game but they were making noise.

There was only about 15,000 to 20,000 at each game but they were making noise. I suppose they will all die. (sarcasm, of course). Yeah, most teams are letting in a percentage of the seating capacity, with spacing unless it is family group. People will adapt to cautionary rules of distance, masks, etc. The spectators are probably at least as safe as when they go to the grocery store. I see the B10 is rumored to be having a vote soon as to whether or not to restart. For the sake of the Universities, and the communities that rely on the fans, I hope they do try to have a season. If they vote no again, I expect money from donors to shrink, as well as the huge loss from not having the fan's money and TV money. It's sad because when I grew up when the Big10 was THE imminent conference in sports, and up until the retirement last year of Jim Delaney, they had the best leadership in college sports.

The rebuilding job at Florida St is going to take awhile. What an ugly performance, blowing a 10 point lead at home to Georgia Tech and losing by a field goal.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette or ULL (also known as ooh-La-La) is the alma mater of my entire family (except me). When they attended it was the University of Southwestern Louisiana or USL. Fantastic food in Lafayette, Louisiana. I grew up 45 minutes southwest of there.
