Let's hear it for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns! They knocked of previously 23rd ranked Iowa St in Ames. So, they get the pay check for traveling to Iowa St. and takes home the victory too. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette or ULL (also known as ooh-La-La) is the alma mater of my entire family (except me). When they attended it was the University of Southwestern Louisiana or USL. Fantastic food in Lafayette, Louisiana. I grew up 45 minutes southwest of there. Congrats on a big win. I usually hear of the Cajuns during basketball season, it's nice to see their football squad making some noise. A side note: The Steelers do have a rookie guard on their squad, named Kevin Dotson who went to Louisiana.

Just kept getting better and better. Big dude, good guy with a strong work ethic. Loves to run block. Has a twin brother who also played college football at Nicholls State in Louisiana.

The rebuilding job at Florida St is going to take awhile. What an ugly performance, blowing a 10 point lead at home to Georgia Tech and losing by a field goal. I am surprised as well at how Florida State has fallen of late. They recruit in a talent-rich area, and should not be struggling like this.

I was surprised that there have been fans at these games, I thought the stadiums were going to be empty. There was only about 15,000 to 20,000 at each game but they were making noise. I suppose they will all die. (sarcasm, of course). Yeah, most teams are letting in a percentage of the seating capacity, with spacing unless it is family group. People will adapt to cautionary rules of distance, masks, etc. The spectators are probably at least as safe as when they go to the grocery store. I see the B10 is rumored to be having a vote soon as to whether or not to restart. For the sake of the Universities, and the communities that rely on the fans, I hope they do try to have a season. If they vote no again, I expect money from donors to shrink, as well as the huge loss from not having the fan's money and TV money. It's sad because when I grew up when the Big10 was THE imminent conference in sports, and up until the retirement last year of Jim Delaney, they had the best leadership in college sports. The "Return to Competition Force" meet today, exciting stuff.

Thanks for the back round information, the Steelers are really high on Dotson and see him as a future starter.

I'm a life long Florida Gator fan and have watched FSU be bad for a few seasons. Twenty years ago, FSU, UF and Miami got most of the good Florida high school talent, but not anymore. Many recruits go out of state or places like Central Florida and South Florida. UCF has been better than FSU and Miami the last few years. Miami usually looks good on paper and then they end up being mediocre. Coaching is also a big part of FSU's demise. The Gators stunk too for a couple seasons, but I believe Dan Mullen has turned them around.

I hadn't thought about the dilution of talent in the proliferation of Florida schools that play a competitive brand of football, and have signed some name coaches to recruit. (thinking of FAU, FIU, etc.) That is bound to have an effect on the Big Boys recruiting. I am somewhat familiar with Norvell, and was surprised at FSU thinking he is a savior. I think he will be disappointing there, but I am often wrong. Go Gators.

The Cajuns are going to find it hard to keep their young coach when the big boys come calling after the season. He was a hot commodity already, and that win only embellished that.

This can't be good and what does it mean for their season?

I think there are some open dates penciled in to the SEC schedule, so there is some flexibility. Push meeting shove I suppose it would be next man up or in the extreme a forfeit. Hopefully it never comes to that.

The dysfunctional leadership of the Big10, starting with the Commissioner, Kevin Warren, and 11 of the 14 Presidents (only excluding the Presidents of Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio State, who voted to play sports this fall) may be about to reverse their inane decision made in early August to doom their conference to irrelevance by shutting down.
Reports are that they will announce tonight an 8 game schedule for all teams to be played within a 9 week period, with a Championship game on Dec 19. The final CFB playoff selection is scheduled for Dec 20th, so presumably Ohio State (or possibly someone else) could be considered for one of the four playoff positions.
Given the ineptitude of the Commissioner, it could still be fouled up, however.

When you think the B10 leadership has hit a new low in douche-ness, they find a way to show there is not a low that cannot be lowered.
Apparently incestuous squabbling has delayed any decision, and who knows if these ridiculous clowns can agree on anything. The Trump Administration looks like a well-oiled machine by comparison.
