Yankees offer nothing offensively in the eighth. They are looking pretty flat right now.

Cessa pitching the ninth. Have to hold them here to have any chance.

And, a balk. The most ridiculous rule in any sport.

Diaz with a two run homer to short right field. 10-5 Rays.

Yankees go quietly in the ninth, falling into second place in the AL East. Rays take the season series and hold that tiebreaker now.

I think we need to look for people who weight lift less. Being serious. The super developed players seem to get hurt a lot.

I think we need to look for people who weight lift less. Being serious. The super developed players seem to get hurt a lot. Those players are getting darned hard to find. The super performers who can stay on the field tend to earn long term contracts while young. Then, after that contract expires, we get a shot at them at about age 30, at which time they are near to their decline phase and no longer going and flexible. We’re at a disadvantage in the draft due to our positioning. That’s why our guys scour Latin America looking for some kid that made a glove out of a hog snout and a bat out of the animal’s ribs...

I don't want to retype the comment scroll down if you want to read it.
I certainly have no inside Yankee information, but a case might be made that the Yankees are too quick to put players on the IL. Stanton had a leg problem? He is a DH. He couldn't hit with that? Kirk Gibson limping to the plate in the WS comes to mind. Judge said he could have played the next day, and wanted to. That's too big of a loss to take when the player insists he is good. I would take care in using any pitcher that feels a twinge, because they might do real damage to their arm in trying to compensate for that, but a position player who has an ouchie? I would feel differently if the last few years of suspected excessive caution seemed to work well on future injuries, but it seems that instead the threshold has been set so low that most anything can mean a trip to the IL.

MR. Ichiro Suzuki was hardly ever hurt. WHY? Because of his DAILY Stretching Exercises. He was NOT muscle bound;' instead flexible.
His Exercises & Yoga, etc. (plus diet) = an almost no long-term injuries and look at his body and his MLB RESULTS.
Weight training is nice and should be part of the program but only like 20%--the rest = Stretching-Yoga--Running--Tai Chi--Diet-Mediation.
It would be one of my first moves as Yankee GM.
When I say this to others they laugh and I point to the Stanton Types (maybe soon Judge types...) etc.
No Tequila, Mushrooms are not part of the plan. Plus WE DO NOT share our mushrooms.
