Because don't forget after the girardi bonehead move in Cleveland the team was flat the next night as well but Greg Bird saved the series.

We could win tomorrow. But if we don't its still been a great season. And maybe we will finally have a season without injuries next year.
We get Severino and German back next year. Montgomery with a year of pitching. That will be a solid team especially if Garcia develops.

O'Neil says the failure of the strategy the night before still seemed on their mind because the team looked very flat. So it's Montgomery vs an opener tomorrow. (Thompson). Lorenz : Don't try to out ray the rays play to your strengths. I don't think Tanaka's performance had anything to do with last night, he just didn't have it. The usual scapegoat, Sanchez can't even be blamed this time.

Yes we have one good starting pitcher, I agree. Its only game 2 and 3 starters I was discussing. So counting runs from game 1 has nothing to do with my argument. 5 of those runs scored off a reliever in the 9th. If you are basing the rotation on two games then maybe have a point. It sure sounds you missed most of the season. I am saying we have one good starting pitcher in the play offs. I was not talking about the regular season. Tanaka has gone elsewhere for some reason. Garcia is not experienced enough or his manager has no confidence in him. Using Hap in game 2 is a sign of just how thin the staff is.

They really need a lead tomorrow. Britton and Chapman have been out there this series for 14 pitches total and 1 game.

He is a number 5 pitcher for a reason. How many rookie pitchers have been play off ready in the last 20 years? Some, but not a lot I think

Some, but not a lot I think Happ pitched out of the bullpen which is different than starting. Garcia got screwed over by his own manger and front office. The Yankees have basically only used two starters is this playoffs, Cole and Tanaka.

Sucks how they finally get Stanton hitting at mvp levels again and the rest of the team mostly disappears.
