Kay is making a good point that MLB should have been upfront more about how the post season would be in a bubble with no off days they didn't give that announcement till post trade deadline. One thing the Yankees would have had against them had they advanced is Cole wouldn't be able to start till game 4. Boone tried to play the game 2 thing down but it makes no sense to me that you had 5 legit starters and they had to pull what they did in that game with 2 of them. I doubt we would have traded for anyone that mattered. That is not cashman's method anymore. Our starter in game 5 had more rest than theirs. Our hitters just could do nothing and we gave up 2 long balls.

Its not a matter of if you want him, its if he would have stayed straight would he have been a much better option. Same with Seve. 2019 Seve pitched well in the post even though he lost the game. 2 runs in 8. He's been shelled way too many times for me to guarantee he makes a difference in this series. I understand, that first season he was in he got rocked by the homerun. 5 home runs and 10 runs in 2 games. The following year no homeruns but 6 runs in 7 innings and 2019 only 2 runs in 8. 4 total games he has piched in and is 1-3 with a 5. ERA. I still think he would have been a plus from what they have now with a better offense.

Chapman did make history tonight but not the good kind. Whats the old saying "good pitching..." I mean "good hitting..."

I think tanaka will be gone next year. He did little in the play offs and I think his career as a yankee is over. There may be no season next year due to labor negotiations and or /covid Just to bright things up

I don't want players like German period. He cost us too much by his inability to control his behavior. No off the field surprises No bad boys on Team Noetsi...

The team just needs more conscentsy overall. The offense did fine most of the series but the pitching was iffy at times. Then the last two days the pitching combines to give up 3 runs over 2 days and has the ace pitching and loses to a team throwing mostly bullpen guys.
It's like the offense and pitching we're never on the same page at the same time.
I think one glaring issue is the middle relief/bridge type pitchers. We got to a point here where Britton and Chapman had to cover 3 innings in a tie game. If there was someone other than Green who didn't seem to be much available tonight maybe one or both gets saved and isn't needed unless the Yankees take the lead.

Well, thats the season boys. I had fun watching as short as the season was. Pretty pissed at Chapman right about now. Two straight years of giving up the big HR to send us home. Yea, our hitters didn't really come through but I expected a low scoring affair and in a tie game Chapman has to hold them. Can't believe we have to support the stupid Rays now against the Asterisks. Go NL for sure. It was fun talking to everyone on here though.
Three things I'm thankful for: 1. We actually finished the baseball season (not a given with COVID)
2. Our lineup was fully healthy down the stretch. 3. I got to share the season and the playoffs with all you guys, my good friends here on the board!
Can't ask for much more than that.
On to Hotstove Season! Spring Training will be here sooner than you know!

Its been rumored that Bauer doesn't get along with his Ex-UCLA teammate Gerrit Cole, but maybe he's burying the hatchet so he can sign with the Yankees this offseason?
