Larussa to manage the white Sox They have a lot of talent, that's for sure. A good job to take.

First season in MiLB: 1962. I wonder if he’ll still be a running, bunting type of manager? ...
59 years in baseball to date...

Hi folks. Just want to throw in my two cents on moves I'd like to see the Yankees make. It's a long list. But the team absolutely needs to change:
1) Re-sign DJ LeMahieu. Move him to 1B 2) Re-sign Didi Gregorius. May not be great defensively, but he's solid. And his LH bat is needed. 3) Sign Joc Pederson. He can play some corner OF, some 1B, and hit homeruns from the LH side. 4) Let Tanaka, Happ, and Gardner walk. 5) Sign Marcus Stroman. 6) Trade Luke Voit. Offer him to Milwaukee--along with Clarke Schmidt and another prospect--for Josh Hader and Omar Narvaes 7) Keep Zach Britton 8) Offer Aroldis Chapman+Gary Sanchez around. Maybe to Colorado in a deal for Kyle Freeman
That'd be more than enough.

I wouldn't trade Voit. I'd just re-sign DJ and keep him at second. Not a big fan of Stroman. Rather see if we could get Bauer but I doubt they'd pay enough to get him. I'd rather keep Tanaka than signing Stroman.

I don't like moving DJ to first because you lose the advantage of this great defense that he gives you at 2nd base. That's his best position, so I would keep him there. Bringing back DiDi and signing Pederson would certainly help with the Yanks lack of left handed power but there's no room at SS with Gleyber there. Stroman would make sense if the Yanks miss out on Bauer, although his not so flattering comments about Cashman aren't going to make anyone from the Yankee front office to be in a hurry to sign him.

DJ moving to first wouldn't rule out his playing some 2B, 3B. Gleyber is NOT a good SS. I think Stroman is a better bet moving forward than Tanaka. Younger and a better risk health wise. And probably a little less costly. Bauer would cost WAY too much.

I agree about DJ at second. Though right-handed, Voit hits righties just as well as lefties, and he is one of the few high SLG, high OBP guys around, which is not true of Didi or Peterson. Freeland has a very high WHIP, which is problematic in the AL East. I don’t suspect Stanton waives his no trade clause; he appears to like NY. If the Yankees really want to make a splash, it is Realmuto. Gary could be the back-up catcher with power off the bench. If Gary beats out Realmuto, then Sanchez is The Sanchize again. On the other hand, if we sign the 5’7” Stroman, Deivi Garcia at 5’9” will have someone to post-up during pick-up basketball.
