I too would like to sign Morton (as I have STATED before).
If I were Cash here are the FA's I would try to sign (most at reasonable $$$)--Not In Priority Order
--Morton --Darren O'Day --Brad Hand --Liam Hendriks --Roberto Osuna (he has pay his price)
--Corey Kluber (small invest $$$ --if he returns to form --WOW) --James McCann OR Austin Romine (Pair either with HIGGY = Almost Perfection) --Marcus Semien
--DJ LeMahieu (no more than 3-years) If he does not sign than Move Torres back to 2B -- Semien to play SS
WOULD TRADE: Sanchez Chapman (maybe package with Sanchez??? Get Chapman to waive No Trade) Heller Holder Hale Ford Hicks Lyons
WOULD LET THEM GO: Gardner (Thanks for the memories)
Paxton Happ Tanaka
MY PREDICTION: If we go into the 2021 season with SANCHEZ as our primary catcher or even back-up, we AGAIN will not WIN the WS or maybe not even make the WS.
I really like McCann as backup to HIGGY who I really like = Both are so much better than Sanchez and so much more positive.
...While neither McCann or the White Sox is formally closing the door on their relationship, it seems hard to imagine a return scenario with Grandal signed for three more years.
J.T. Realmuto is the top name on the open market, but McCann very arguably is the next-best alternative.
He’s made huge strides both offensively and defensively since signing in Chicago, hitting a combined .276/.334/.474 with 25 homers in 587 plate appearances.
He’s dramatically improved his exit velocity, hard-hit rate and barrel rate with the South Siders.
After an offseason focused on improving his framing last winter, McCann posted career-best numbers in that department in 2020 en route to a Gold Glove nomination.
I LIKE THIS KID--IF WE CANNOT RESIGN DJ = MOVE TORRES TO 2B and SIMMONS takes over at SS. Report: Blue Jays showing interest in Andrelton Simmons
The Toronto Blue Jays already employ an everyday shortstop in Bo Bichette, but that isn't keeping them from exploring other options at the position in free agency.

Rock and a hard place. DJ loves being a Yankee, but he’s obviously not into playing too cheap. Yankees should love DJ, but may not be into overpaying for his declining seasons. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out...

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out... A four year deal seems fair for both parties. I thought D.J. took less money to come to the Yankees two years and that turned out to be a big bargain, that should count for something.

Mr. Big Mouth is back with the Mets. Good. More mouth than ability. Now we don’t have to worry if the Yanks will sign him...

Mr. Big Mouth is back with the Mets. Hopefully less money available for Cohen to throw at DJ.
