Bauer has had two outstanding seasons out of 9 in his career. Granted that those seasons were 2018 and 2020, but if he slips back to his career norms, LA will be saddled with those 3 back end seasons. Maybe that’ll slow them down. This contract is a horrible risk for the Dodgers. Were I a GM, I’d have stayed away and hoped Bauer was stubborn enough to take a year off. As for baseball, this is yet another knife in the side of that beast. Continue to pay more and more for a less and less popular sport. The math won’t work forever... |

I am glad he didn’t go to the Mets. Jacob deGrom and Trevor Bauer would have been tough in a series.
