Just read that Sanchez to go back on the DL with continuing groin issues. Make of that what you will.

Saw that. If he was still hurt or reinjured the groin and said nothing, shame on him. Another indication of his lack of maturity.

More a gro-in up issue than a groin issue... ):
So, in the first inning, he was walking because of a boo-boo to his hoo-hoo, then ran when he saw a run might score.
In the ninth, he was walking because of the same boo-boo to the same hoo-hoo, and decided to run when he realized he might be thrown out.
So, Gary...how’s the hoo-hoo???

The pope is saying he doesn’t believe it’s an injury at all. The truth is that the team is better off with Romine st the moment anyway.

We have to wonder if they’re blowing smoke up The Pope’s ass, and if the smoke is dark or white...if it’s white, we have a new starting catcher... I’d love to see Romine get his bat heated up again...The rest of the season could get mighty interesting behind the plate...

I hear you, inger…..but Romine has to contend with the specter that if he gets 2 or 3 hits in a game, he may ride the bench for awhile....why?....I don't know....it must be a new idea that is over my head....

One day, the Yankees are going to have one of those games where EVERYBODY get three hits and a home run, and Boone will have no one he wants to suit up the next day. I guess all the pitchers will have to play a position...I hope CC gets first base...I think Betances should be the DH. I don't want him to throw the ball, except from the mound to home. That seems to be his corridor of relative safety...

Athletes live such a different life compared to us. Gary, you have failed to perform up to our standards. In a "normal business environment" we'd demote you, write you up as a precursor to a possible dismissal. I know this is old news but I haven't visited in a couple days and want to give my two cents...
1. How pissed would you be if you were Hicks and get banged up breaking up that double play... so much so that you couldn't play for two days... Only for Sanchez to get thrown out at first for being lazy... Man.. If I was in Hicks shoes.. Sanchez would at the least get an earful... That's fucked up to go out giving 100% and get hurt doing so for that B.S.to happen
2. Do you people really think the Yankees are faking this Sanchez injury to the point that they'd have him out 6 to 8 weeks? Come on guys... Be smarter than that!!!

Do you people really think the Yankees are faking this Sanchez injury to the point that they'd have him out 6 to 8 weeks? Come on guys... Be smarter than that!!! It's an interesting theory at the least. It depends on what you think they're sitting down. Are they sitting a .280 hitter with 35 HR power that could be a lethal bat? Or, are they sitting this year's reality, a .190 hitter that could run into 20 HR and is playing poorly behind the plate? There may be a bit of this and a bit of that in the reason he's sitting right now. If it means he'll be super rested and super healthy when he comes back, both mentally and physically the reason may not matter. We just don't have that much of a need to put him back in the line up until he's ready to contribute all around as much as he can. We have an able and willing replacement that will play his heart out. In his last 26 games, Sanchez has hit a paltry .129/.221/.218 with only 13 hits in 101 at bats. Five singles, three doubles, and 2 HR...9 RBI. He's also grounded into 3 DPs and fanned 29 times. We aren't so in need of his services that we can have more of that. In those same 26 games (only 21 at catcher) games he's made three errors, allowed 12 WPs on his watch, and base runners have successfully stolen on 10 of 14 tries. One has to wonder how many of the WPs might have been corralled by a much more active and spry Romine behind the plate...I feel better with Romine back there right now, and even better with Romine at the plate in a big situation. So, I would say that under the circumstances, a Sanchez that may have been able to come back in three to five weeks may be being allowed a bit of "extra rest" to assure the correct Sanchez is back for the stretch run...
