This is the very strangest team, and it’s being run in a very perplexing manner. It’s almost like Strat-O-Matic... I’ve always been a Cashman advocate, but if he’s really pulling the strings he shit the bed on this year... Perplexing is le mot juste, as they say in Perpignan. I am still naive enough to believe that these guys can't possibly stay this bad for an entire season. But some of this stuff -- Gleyber Torres has the second-lowest exit velo rate in the majors at 84.1, he is beyond question awful defensively, and unless they move him he seems destined to be the Yankees shortstop at least until DJLM's contract is up in six years. And he isn't the worst problem by a long shot. The Yankees should inform Brett Gardner that they are holding a day for him at his retirement ceremony before next Sunday's game with Boston. He's embarrassing himself at the plate. Trey Amberguey couldn't possibly hit worse, or give Florial his shot. It's easier to accept a kid struggling to hit.200 than a guy at the end of the road. Mike Ford clearly has in his possession compromising photographs of Hal Steinbrenner with underage girls. It is the only possible explanation for his continued presence on this team. On and on, Frazier, Sanchez, the Stanton conundrum, it's like we cover the same ground every day. But with all of that, they HAVE to be better than this. If not, Cashman has essentially screwed the franchise for the foreseeable future. Honestly this team with 16-11 this month after being 13-14 in April. For all the bad plays, question mark decisions, and injuries it could be worse. They still are in a tie for the second wildcard so it's not like they are games behind but going 1-6 since Tuesday changed a great month to a good one. They were seriously 15-5 a week ago for the month. However, as I said the other day I feel the biggest problem is the management on this team. These rest days are out of control. Giving Mike Ford all this playing time is insanity. Stretching out injuries multiple days when it's only a 10 day dl and not a 15 anymore which effects the bench being short. Gardner is just not a full time player anymore. I'm willing to give Clint Frazier more of a chance because we've seen sometimes this year he has hit the ball well plus maybe that neck thing effected it for a while. Why does Gary Sanchez get so many chances? It's like everytime this team is going well someone gets a rest day and it just kills any momentum. These guys don't need this much rest.

Also you have to give Judge credit for someone who usually has a lot of days off he leads the team in games with 51 of 54 played. He has a 300 average and obp is still up there. Now if we can just have Stanton get back to pre injury form.
Regardless of that though there is just some weird chemistry on this team. The interview with Taillion today was weird
You basically have the pitchers feeling that they need to pitch perfect. I mean giving up 3 runs shouldn't be a problem. This offense should be able to overcome that.

Notice how it no matter who comes on this team whether they started the season on it or not seems to get dp and base running itis.

Probably better for your health! lol Yeah, it does help keep the calorie count down. I get my bad calories from bourbon, which is undoubtedly even worse for my health. But I'm 6'4" and usually stay between 190-195, so that part works out okay. You have that basketball build, Pipps!

You're doing great, Kaybli. Lots of discipline. I don't think 190 is bad for six feet. It all depends on his “mush factor”... 😂 The BMI dates back to 1830, so weight and height have some relevance, but it’s clearly antiquated. Some people simply have greater bone density and muscle mass. Vasily Alekseyev, the USSR Olympic powerlifting champion, weighed 353 pounds at 6’2”, but could dunk a basketball. In short, don’t obsess over the scale. What you enjoy doing may determine what shape to shoot for (e.g., golf vs running vs weightlifting). Staying mobile or strong and feeling good/healthy are important, too. Never slow down, never grow old is a great motto.

Swallowed whole, with the air still in it. Pumps it up regularly...

We’ll get hot again. It’ll be fun for a while... we just need to keep three or four hot guys going at all times. Instead, we’re all or nothing...

Little boy comes in the house looking sad. His father asks him how the baseball game he played in was. Kid says “I had a no-hitter going until the big kids got out of school”. ... That’s how we used to play. We’d have guys go home, and more guys would show up. Just pick up games... Sometimes there’d be a really young kid in there, and sometimes big guys that were on the high school team would show up...

I just use the scale cause I can't rely on my eyes all the time to see if I'm making progress or not.

You have that basketball build, Pipps! I've tried calling it Lincolnesque, but people just snort. Don’t even go there unless you can grow a decent wart, Pipps. I’ve been reading up on Lincoln on line. He wasn’t actually a human. He was an interplanetary wart that was able to shape shift into the shape of a human. There’s so much you can learn if you “research”. There’s been some stuff on cable about Sherry Shriner, whom I had never heard of until seeing the specials. What a cuckoo. And she had like 5,000 followers. Died in 2018, but she still has the followers and somebody is still running her Facebook Page, allowing her to continue to “speak to her people”...
