Ronstadt had a prominent backing vocal on "Heart of Gold" as I'm sure you know. It was just as she was starting to break out as a solo artist. Although she had already had a big hit fronting the Stone Ponies in 1967 with Mike Nesmith's "Different Drum." The was something about the way Ronstadt wore halter tops and tied shirts that just drove me crazy. The was also a poster she did with a white see through shirt while braless that was wildly erotic… proof positive that the female form doesn’t have to have mammoth breasts to delight the senses. <Horny old man? Nah. Horny old memories>. Mostly, she had the hottest eyes… Linda never had an issue with posing in provocative settings. She was eminently doable in her youth. |

Not here… Twins broadcasting team… Do you have Extra Innings? I just assumed everybody got the same menu. Extra Innings through DISH TV. It was immensely better when I had Extra Innings via DIRECT TV, but there was a $150 monthly difference in my bill… I couldn’t justify that. Plus Extra Innings was twice as expensive through DIRECT TV… I’d switch back if they’d make me a deal… |

The first person you get on the phone is worthless and has no authority but if you say you want to terminate your service, they transfer you to their customer retention department and those people have the ability to cut and slash your bill to get you to stay. It's a lousy game to play but a necessary one. |

I was incorrect. There was a $60 price difference, but $150 difference during the months I was paying for Extra Innings. With DISH, I just prepay $130 for the entire season vs. DIRECT TV which was automatically split into 4 monthly payments of $65 or so. But still enough difference that it got my attention… I’ve grown more used to it, more accepting. I just don’t understand it when the Yankees “station” and Twins “station” both have the Twins broadcast. And then, here and there and seemingly randomly… there is a YES broadcast… |
