I look forward to seeing lots of inaction by the Yankees in the trade market per usual. Oh Cashman you sly dog you, making me look like a fool with the Locastro deal!

Can't see where this trade will hurt us. Maybe he can be this year's Tauchman or Maybin. Doesn't seem to be a great hitter. He's fast apparently. Maybe he can steal first.

Yay. Another outfielder who can't hit. We've got 2 on the roster and one on IL already.

Just remember the three most important tenets of baseball real estate:
Locastro, Locastro, Locastro

I don’t know if anyone will recall this, but earlier this year I actually suggested that Locastro may be useful for the Yankees. He was beginning to show an improvement in getting on base, and at the time was 26/0 for his career stealing. He’s been disappointing this season.
Gardner is no longer stealing bases, and Wade has never shown elite base stealing skills despite his speed. He’ll be able to pinch run, and I believe his defense will be appreciated.
No, he’s not going to be a great offensive piece at this point. He does walk and get on base well for a player with almost no power. He’s intriguing going forward if he can start reaching base like he was in 2020, he could be a speedy lead off option…

If he can get on base like last year he may have some value. I wouldn't lead him off.

Yay. Another outfielder who can't hit. We've got 2 on the roster and one on IL already. Amazingly, he would statistically be the worst hitter on this team. This is ridiculous. I’d rather go with our AAA guys, unless Locastro is to replace one of our AAA guys who’s being pulled up?

Is this the face of the player who will turn around the Yankees’ season? Is this the face of Brian Cashman’s illegitimate son? Is this the face of the kid that bags my groceries at Kroger? Is this the face of the high school senior caught smoking weed right before graduation?

Did anyone remember that Tim Locastro was once with the Yankees (granted, not even two months)?
Transactions below:
June 7, 2013: Drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2013 amateur draft. Player signed June 12, 2013.
July 2, 2015: Traded by the Toronto Blue Jays with Chase De Jong to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two international bonus slots.
November 21, 2018: Traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the New York Yankees for Drew Finley (minors) and cash.
January 16, 2019: Traded by the New York Yankees to the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash and Ronald Roman (minors).

It's almost as if they re-acquired Mike Tauchman. From what I am seeing out of San Francisco, Tauchman has become something of a folk hero there despite the continued crappy hitting. He has made at least three late-inning game-saving catches and has apparently had several of his meager hit totals in key spots. No, I don't wish he were still a Yankee, there are way too many like him. I wonder if Frazier's dizzy spells are concussion-related and maybe why they got LoCastro. And who gets dropped from the 40 man roster? Cashman doesn't seem to have much faith in the guys in Scranton, which must be really discouraging for them.

If he can get on base like last year he may have some value. I wouldn't lead him off. At this point, his value is only in his legs. Pinch runner, late inning defensive player would seem to be more appropriate. If he gets some chances to bat and starts getting on base, then he might become more. He was never a regular in MLB up until now, and I hope we don’t see him as such now, either. Just a useful role player who apparently is a very skilled base theif…
