Must be those Italian genes, Rizz. Obviously a gross generalization, but it seems to me that more men from Mediterranean backgrounds-- Italian, French, Greek, even extending to Egyptian and Moroccan and Lebanese -- are more apt to cook than those from colder climates. Or maybe it's just that food in general is more important to Mediterranean people. I guess I enjoy making cocktails for myself as much as for others. I love the history of mixed drinks and have a pretty decent library on the subject. There are few artifacts in Western culture that I find as aesthetically pleasing as a Martini glass. I wouldn't expect anything less from Double O Pipps:
I'll tell you this -- "shaken not stirred" ruined a lot of Martinis. But Ian Fleming got a lot of things right in matters of style. Some slow day I'll bore you with the story of staying at Duke's in London and talking with a bartender who was present at the creation of Bond's Vesper cocktail.

You are a treasure!

In the snap of a finger, Chapman has gone from unhittable to unuseable. Remarkable.

In the snap of a finger, Chapman has gone from unhittable to unuseable. Remarkable. Let’s hope it’s all mechanical and not a bit mental.
