5.24 ERA since June (including this game). 1.78 ERA before then. Things that make you go Hmmmmm. Not if you pay attention to his arm slot and mechanics. It’s much more alluring and sexy to blame it all on Spider Tack, etc., but you’d be ignoring his problems prior to that time and in previous years, and you’d have to believe Cole only began using substances for grip this season and never has trouble with mechanics like every other pitcher does during the court of the season. Im not blaming it all on Spider Tack, I'm just saying its a factor and the numbers are awfully suspicious.

This team is getting what it deserves, they didn't have the guts to stick with Green, who has been pitching better because Chapman has a bigger contract and status than Chad.

What we’re seeing with Chapman is historic. As he comes off the mound here, I wonder what’s next? Is he going to go in the IL? Be used in garbage time until he gets straightened out? Is he finished?
The low slider to Alonzo was a Bozo pitch choice for certain…

Luetge hasn’t been exactly sharp lately, either…

The Yankees will sink or swim with Chapman. Too much invested in him.

The Yankees will sink or swim with Chapman. Too much invested in him. Reminds me of last season when the Cubs took Kimbrel out of the closer's role because of too many meltdowns. He's back now and dominate again but the Yankees have to make the same tough decision with Chapman before it destroys tier season.

Im not blaming it all on Spider Tack, I'm just saying its a factor and the numbers are awfully suspicious. I also said I believed it was a factor, but I cannot ignore the other things I see and his history. Like I said, he gave up 5 earned runs 6 times and 7 earned runs 3 times with Houston in 2017, and we all know that Houston wouldn’t condone using foreign substances or anything untoward. The first time it was reported this season that Cole had lost RPMs, it seemed everyone in the media said it was due to no Spider Tack. Cole said it had more to do with his mechanics. In his next start, his spin rates were back to normal. Then, his next start after that, the spin rates were down again. There has not been a perfect correlation. But, people are four times more likely to remember something negative than positive.
