Can we put to bed that Cole cant throw to Gary? Enough of this crap, especially when our offense has been what it's been for 3 1/2 months. It’s not that he can’t throw to Sanchez. Catchers cannot catch every game, and Cole probably prefers Higashioka since they had a good run last season. And, it’s not like Sanchez was an offensive force last season or even the beginning of this season, when Higgy took the starting job for a couple weeks. Hopefully, Gary starts on a hot streak, because his numbers in July coming into this game: .065/.194/.161/.356. What should be put to bed is that Cole cannot pitch without Spider Tack. |

Me too. Seems like it used to be cut and dried, no pun intended. I was at the New York / Baltimore game that originally led to the rain rule changes. Yankees scored 6 runs in the rain in the top of the fifth, leading to Earl Weaver objecting to continuation of the game after a rain delay. I’ve forgotten now the entirety of the drama from that day…Somehow I think it wound up that the game was called and had to be replayed… Yesh. I always thought if the home team was ahead after 4.5 innings it was a complete game. Likewise if the visitors were ahead after 5 complete. If visitors were ahead after 4.5 and game got rained out, you start over--no game. I lost a victory in college due to rain after 4.5 with us winning. Which was unfortunate since I didn't have a lot of them. |

Since we were on our spring break "tour" it was back in the vans and off to the next destination. Like the game never happened. |

Mets blew a big lead to the pirates. Walkoff grand slam with a 6-0 lead entering the 8th. Pirates closed it to 6-5 in 8th and Mets had a 7-5 lead going into Bottom 9. Lost 9-7.
