Come on Gardner. Defense was your last strength and now you do that?

Yankees didn't seem interested in this game just like almost every potential series sweep.

That was the ugliest play I’ve ever seen of Gardy. He had to have lost the ball in that dirty white ceiling of the Trop.

Was there any doubt this team would flop today? They've refused to put the clamp down on teams all year with sweep opportunities, and this one woulda put them 4 GB in loss column of TB. They need an absolute monster August and the schedule sets up nicely, can they take advantage?

Just throw him a pitch. Thats all you have to do to make Stanton look bad at this point. He needs a day off or three. I was going to make some lame remark comparing Stanton unfavorably to an Angels OFer from the 1970s, Leroy Stanton. Leroy was one of the Mets who, along with Nolan Ryan, was traded to the Angels for a washed-up Jim Fregosi. Then I saw that Leroy was killed in an auto accident in 2019 in Florence, SC, a town I have inexplicably found myself in on multiple occasions. You'd have to be at least 50 to remember Leroy. Gads, everyone goes to Florence. I too have gone into Florence, though never with a purpose. In fact, I don’t think there is a purpose to Florence…It’s there as a large waiting area for when Charleston is full. …

We have to start a thread just for things of this ilk for Pipps. Like the six degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon. It would be fascinating!

For some reason, I woke up tired today. I chose to take a nap as the game began. Oh, I heard the four run rally. I even opened my eyes to peep at the Ji-Man’s foul ball, and wondered again why we didn’t give the roly-poly one a better opportunity in NY.
I heard an occasional bit and piece as I dozed and then finally went out completely. I was stunned to wake up and find it already the top of inning #6.
Geez. What a bad way to celebrate the Gallo trade. Maybe too much distraction? And now 10-0…

At least we can rest the key guys in the bullpen today. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe Gallo arrives at the park soon and leads baseball’s largest comeback ever… 12-0… This is piling on. Those Rays will pay for this… someday…

Or pitch Britton to let him keep working out of his funk…
