If we were on a beach, I’d buy you a Piña Colada right now. Note: Real name of Rupert Holmes is David Goldstein. Worst song ever. Holmes also wrote a lesser known hit with the lyrics "...my stomach was full as it could be; and nobody ever got round to finding, Timothy." The soul of Shakespeare trembles in the ether.

They played at my wife's prom. Good catch.

The soul of Shakespeare trembles in the ether. In the context of the song, it makes perfect sense and explains the essense of the song. Don't remember it?

Gallo needs to get off the schneid! I’m comfortable waiting for a night when the rest of the team doesn’t produce ten or more runs…

Gallo needs to get off the schneid! Love that phrase. The schneid. Yiddish has so many words describing futility.

If this keeps going we’re going to lapse into discussion of Holme’s similarity to Bertie Higgins. Then we’ll be completely off the rails… “Sailing away to Key Largo”…

Then he writes that sappy, icky, awful, terrible song about pina coladas.

But Allen was someone else's player. Yeah, when did Allen become ours and thereby need replacing? That makes him a true Yankee now!

Gallo needs to get off the schneid! Yeah, Gallo is a better base runner and defensive OF than hitter.

But what if it wasn’t? …
