Gallo needs to get off the schneid! Yeah, Gallo is a better base runner and defensive OF than hitter. Yessir. He’s a better base runner than I expected. Even better than what I expected in the OF, and I expected a LOT. Quite an athlete. I’ll take his hot bat when he brings it. I’ll take his walks and the rest of his game when he gets out of sorts with the stick. He’s an upgrade in LF in every way… And even when he’s cold, he commands respect at the plate… |

Rizzo is breathing life into this lineup. This is the professional hitter we lacked this year. He’s also the big lefty stick we lacked. Also the personality we lacked. Oh, and the experience professional first baseman we lacked. He’s fulfilled a lot of needs for this team… |

I wonder how many teams have ever lost 3 starting pitchers to the DL in a week... At least we saw the electric debut of Gill and Taillon is pitching like an ACE. Cole and Montgomery will back soon. |

The reference is to the theory/position that a batter has only three outcomes that are truly independent and within the offensive player’s control (i.e., independent of fielding): home run, walk, strikeout. |
