A Russ Davis mention. Does anyone recall when the Yankees reportedly turned down a trade of Russ Davis for Randy Johnson? No. But I did read today that the Cardinals GM was forced to trade a young Jerry Reuss because Augie Busch didn’t like his mustache… |

I stole that line from my dear friend and former freshman English professor at LSU. After reading a piece about brothels (Storyville) in New Orleans in the 19th century, a female student asked, “What ever happened to brothels and ladies of the evening?” To which my professor answered, “I’m afraid, my dear, that the amateurs have put the professionals out of business.” I died laughing. |
