A Russ Davis mention. Does anyone recall when the Yankees reportedly turned down a trade of Russ Davis for Randy Johnson? I remember Russ Davis, but I don't remember that potential trade. But Johnson was traded a lot with a lot of players involved, so it certainly sounds plausible. Russ Davis was considered a can’t miss prospect at third base and was the center piece that the Mariners wanted. Johnson wasn’t yet the big unit that he would be. Yankees passed.

Boone is in Heaven making all these pitching changes. Oops. This is where I wanted to post about the bumblebee. At least I was in the correct thread…

I do remember Davis was the hottest Yankee third baseman prospect until the next can't miss guy Drew Henson came along.

Do any of you know that the reigning AL Rookie of the Year is Seattle OFer Kyle Lewis, currently on the 60-day IL? I missed that one completely.

I would have brought in a righty to turn around Haniger. Whoops, I missed that Holmes started that inning. Why pitch to one batter?

To be fair to Russ Davis, the M’s did finally pry him away from NY, and he had three consecutive 20 homer seasons for them…

I'd take that deal anyime. But I had forgotten that Davis put together several decent years for Seattle.
