Sucks but being realistic a split was the most likely outcome of this series. Obviously after winning the first two you get greedy and want more but they did what they were supposed to which is at least split and win the season series which gives them an extra game in the standings. So they are 5 up in the loss but having the tiebreaker puts them 6 up. This streak was against multiple over 500 teams for the majority of it and these losses were close winnable games. The angels are not a good team and hopefully they can win 2 or even all 3 games there and hopefully come home and beat up on the orioles. Rays and Red Sox is a big one. Red Sox are 3 back in the loss of the Yankees right now so Yankees really need to win their games this series because you don't want them catching up. Would it have been nice to be 7 up on the as of course but 5 up with a month to go is still good. Lost 2 games to the Rays in the last two days though which is not good. |

Disappointing to split with Oakland. More disappointing how. Tampa never loses.
How do they win so much with their salary?

The Yankees have one of the best records in baseball since the All Star break and just went 4-2 on a road trip against Atlanta and Oakland. Let's get some perspective. |

He could run the numbers on this for a month and still emerge from the laboratory with the same perspective.
