The Yankees have one of the best records in baseball since the All Star break and just went 4-2 on a road trip against Atlanta and Oakland. Let's get some perspective. He could run the numbers on this for a month and still emerge from the laboratory with the same perspective. I think half the time he just vomits these horse-manure laden statements to jar bad words out of us so he can tell us he’s too cultured for us… He is right in that the games they lose, they need to score more runs.

Why was Wade replaced after one at bat?
He had two plate appearances. Hit by pitch on his first, singled on his second, pulled before his third in the 7th because I guess Boone thought Rizzo would have the better chance to hit the lefty Diekman.

I think Boone was homer-hunting…

I think Boone was homer-hunting… Rizzo did do the important skill of "drawing the error" by Chapman.

If management wants to win a WS we need to get more offense. Disappointing to split with Oakland. More disappointing how. Tampa never loses. How do they win so much with their salary? The Yankees have one of the best records in baseball since the All Star break and just went 4-2 on a road trip against Atlanta and Oakland. Let's get some perspective. They did not do it with offense. They don't have tampa's salary.

They did not do it with offense. They don't have tampa's salary. Of course they “did it” with offense. Without offense a team would never score. Wins can be 4-2, 1-0, or 17-15. In any case some amount of offense is required to win. For the past 3 weeks or so, the Yankees had had one of the most feared offenses in baseball. To win, it takes 50% offense and 50% defense. That’s in any sport. There are going to be anomalies that will appear from time to time. Not every team can be first in offense. No team has to be in the top 90 percentile of offense to win. To me the best teams achieve a nice balance of each. They can be 70th percentile in offense and defense and be big winners…

Thanks, Kay. That at least has some semblance of cognition taking place, though Rizzo has been cold lately.
