Those stats on Akin were brutal. Last in the AL in ERA and pitches per inning. No better than 72nd out of 76 qualifying pitchers in many key categories. You could make a strong case that he is the worst starting pitcher in the AL. No excuses today. He's been better his last two starts. 5 innings, 1 run allowed against Toronto. 7 innings, 1 run allowed against the Angels. Not saying we shouldn't mash him though. |
