Torres and Gallo on the bench today. Lemahieu 2B Judge CF Rizzo 1B Stanton RF Voit DH Urshela 3B Gardner LF Higashioka C Valezquez SS Sad that it had to come to this for Joey. I was looking forward some long ball action out of him. I hope he enjoys his day off. This reminds me of second grade. I had the most wonderful, young and beautiful, smiling first grade teacher. I girl I knew that was a year older than me told me that her second grade teacher was really mean. She said you better hope you don’t get assigned to Mrs. Boles. Sure enough, before the next year the dreaded letter came informing my mom that Mrs. Boles would be my teacher. She thoroughly lived up to her reviews, and she looked the part of an old battle-ax. Between she and the mustachioed principal, MRS. Keithley, it was like being in a horror movie every day. (That was a stiff little ‘stash she had, first I had seen on a female, and she was probably close to retirement, maybe 70). If you were caught whispering or laughing, she would grab your attached desk and seat and slide you across the room til the desk hit the wall. Then she’d scold you. Mind you, it might not have been you that did it. I recall once that we were all lined up to go somewhere when I completely innocently let an accidental audible fart. She came storming toward us demanding to know who made a noise with their “mouth”. Lol. I wasn’t about to confess, and I had no idea what to say to explain what actually happened. Now that time has passed, I hope she got to enjoy the aroma. I should have confessed, I’d have become a class hero. One boy was already asking me if I did it, and he looked impressed. So, there’s Joey. Stuck in Mrs. Boles class. I’ll give him credit, if he cried most of the first three days it didn’t show. I know I did. And I never really adapted. In time a grown man will usually adapt. If not, I guess we have to accommodate him by sending him to a small market team. Maybe back to Texas… *If I ever get around to writing a published tale about my famous ass injury of 2015(?), I’ll add this story as a little insight into my 7- year old ass. For newer posters, well. It’s quite a tale, that injury. Quite a tale… |

I think those Jays are going to be tough for another stretch of 6-8 years if they keep those players… What a division this is going to be for the next few years! |
