Next year. Maybe next year. We just have to quit putting blowout patches on this roster and put some new tires on it… I still believe the turning point in the season was the decision to send down Allen and Florial for Jonathan Davis. The air just went out of this team. We were gaining ground until then. COVID didn’t help either. I dunno if they would have caught the Rays even in the 35-11 period the Rays were like 33-13 or something. Couldn't really play much better. Only thing differently is this game is probably in Yankee Stadium instead, but the Yankees the last month or so haven't played too great at home either. I think the hamstring for Cole never fully healed. Also this lineup is way too inconsistent after Rizzo-Judge-Stanton (no matter whatever order you put them). DJ obviously was a big reason this team didn't perform he was a trend setter the last 2 years this year he was no where near that. Gallo needs to fix his swing in the offseason. Torres, Sanchez, etc are way too inconsistent.

The Astros & Red Sox stuff in back to back years he was found to be involved in. Not sure why him and Hinch were allowed to just disappear for a year then come back. As far as Tonights game I dunno A-rod kept saying he was the best bullpen manager in all of baseball etc MLB actually decided that the Boston cheating was not that serious. It was not comparable to what Houston did.I don't think Casey Stengal could have helped us tonight. The line up was thin and the pitchers did not show up. Management can't fix that. Cora was on that team too..

What did he do? His defense and the Green Monster bailed him out when he took his starter out too early. He was lucky to get out of that inning. Whether Torres will be a good hitter may be moot since he can't play the infield where it matters. Inconsistency is not our problem. A lack of talent is.

I can't blame 1 year of age for DJ falling off that much.

True, yet you ignored CHI (which you often do when it doesn’t fit your narrative…rude), when he pointed out that Cole would probably finish second in the AL Cy Young vote, and I wasn’t speaking of Cole, because he is the one starting pitcher Boone allows to work out of trouble, which you would know if you watched games and were better informed. Actually I responded to that. And there is not point in continuing this disagreement. I am the only one on the board who thinks the way I do. Actually I agree with you Noetsi, particularly you earlier point of having Stanton and Judge and 7 .225 hitters being a recipe for failure. I agree 100%.

I can't really blame Rizzo and Urshela too much and Gardner had some key hits at times. Everyone else is too inconsistent.

LMH was probably our third best hitter. The fall off in talent after him was gaping.

He’s been nicked up since the beginning.

There's a big difference between a strategy on how to win in today's MLB and the personal you put in place to do that. The Yankees problem is roster construction, not philosophy.

They weren't going to say nice things about us after a game like this.

Yea Buck Showalter is saying a lot of that on the post game that theres visible holes on the roster and in the lineup today.

My suspicion is that we shall find out in a few months that LeMahieu was battling the hernia and/or other maladies all season. He had about a month where he looked like himself again, then had the triceps problem.
