Actually I agree with you Noetsi, particularly you earlier point of having Stanton and Judge and 7 .225 hitters being a recipe for failure. I agree 100%. There's a big difference between a strategy on how to win in today's MLB and the personal you put in place to do that. The Yankees problem is roster construction, not philosophy. I actually agree. We need to focus more on getting better hitters not home runs hitters who bat .225. And emphasize hitting more than we do, I mean offense, rather than exclusively focus on pitching. Pitchers get hurt too often to pay them the fortunes we do. And are too inconsistent over time. Personally I think we should analyze what Tampa does. Whatever it is, it works a heck of a lot better than what we do.

Yea Buck Showalter is saying a lot of that on the post game that theres visible holes on the roster and in the lineup today. lol that was genius on his part. We have an offense with three guys who can hit. With a team with starters like Odor, Gallo, et el his comments were patently obvious. Our problem with our pitchers is that they are always hurt. Every year.

The remarkable thing about this game is that it was basically over in the first inning. That is unusual for us in the play offs.

I can't blame 1 year of age for DJ falling off that much. My suspicion is that we shall find out in a few months that LeMahieu was battling the hernia and/or other maladies all season. He had about a month where he looked like himself again, then had the triceps problem. Yea wouldn't be shocked if there was a season long injury or multiple injuries. What sucks is Judge + Stanton for once were pretty healthy this year.

Cole-Taillon-Montogmery-Kluber in a 5 or 7 game series with Severino in the bullpen or piggybacking Kluber start prob keeps most teams in check.

That assumes Taillon and Kluber are not hurt and that Cole actually pitches well in a big game for us. I actually wonder what German can do although he has missed so much time now he may not be that good.

The main difference between our offense and Tampa Bay is they hit with RISP and we don’t, which is why this team needs a two strike approach, and I mean up and down the lineup.

There does not seem to be a good chance he could have scored on that play. And the guys following Stanton were not likely to get hits.

Right wayyyyy too many strikeouts which Tampa actually has more strikeouts than Yankees, but I guess theres more RISP hits too regardless.

Another difference is that their whole team earns what about one player on our team does and they are not hurt all the time (probably because they are younger).

I just think your assessment the game was over in the first inning was wrong, because if he either scores there or they don't send him and he scores on what is now needed a sac fly because the would only be one out its still 3-2.
