Well, Houston now up 3-0 against a struggling Lance Lynn.

Hard to believe this is Lynn's 27th post-season game. Twenty four of them in his first five years with St. Louis. He got into two with the Yankees in 2018.

I've been keeping an eye on both Corey Seager and Carlos Correa as the possible next SS for the Yankees. Although I can't imagine that the Dodgers wouldn't throw as much money at Seager as needed. And why would he leave LA?
Anyway, one thing they have in common is that they miss A LOT of games from injuries. On the one hand, the Yankees need a serious upgrade at short, which either of these guys provide. On the other hand, if there's anything the Yankees don't need it's another injury-prone player.
I don't think any of the prospects are supposed to be major league ready by next year. Maybe another season of treading water? I hate the thought.

Probably a year or two away now. Even then, the Yankees’ decisions in pulling up players are no better than a random roll of dem bones.

Correa will command a pile of cabbage, so I’d prefer a guy like Seager who may end up at third base eventually, once the Peraza/Volpe types are ready.

If Correa signs with us, I'll hold my nose and support him grudgingly.

Your list is pretty much the same as mine, except I was neutral on Gallo (bad on me) and I would include Sheffield, who I couldn't stand. But like you, once they don the interlocking NY, I grit my teeth and wish them success. There's no team in baseball with a roster consisting solely of model citizens. Despite the injury history, it's tempting to make a run at Seager. He's a great player -- and so is Correa, truth to tell -- but I can't imagine the Dodgers not pulling out all the stops to keep him. They've been the most successful franchise in the sport over the past few years, and other than the Yankees they are the most prestigious brand out there. At least drive his price up. As if the Dodgers care. Man, the Yanks need to start throwing money around as if there were no tomorrow.

Gallo was not regarded with derision by me. I just thought he was more of the same offensively, all or nothing, walk-home run-strikeout. His defense - except that one awful game - was welcome. And, at least he could motor around the bases with some athleticism. Rizzo turned down 5 years and 70 million from the Cubs. It was nice having a real first baseman for a change. Unless he really wants to remain in NY, he probably ends up elsewhere. It’s his last big payday. And, I’d rather a real, everyday, run-saving - but can still hit - shortstop.

Rizzo's glove was great to behold, but he seems to be in the early stages of decline at the plate. But I'm not optimistic about Voit's future either. Lots of tough decisions facing the Yankees. As good as it would feel to move on from Sanchez, I don't see any Realmuto-caliber free agent catchers out there.
It doesn't feel like Gardner plans to leave, but the Yanks may have other ideas. Hicks is no serious option to me. So many questions.

Wow, Arozarena just had a strait up steal of home. Not the fluky one, when a runner on first takes off for second and the runner at third then breaks for home, but a legit, actual steal of home. We just don't see that in the game anymore.

That's just my personal preference. While I understand what you’re saying, I blame the players less than I do the managers, coaches, front office personnel for allowing/condoning what was done. I know. MLB has acted as though the players were acting alone, but that’s about as big a load of BS as could be served. On a fairy tale world a man could be Superman and say, “Don’t bang the trash can for me, and I won’t wear a buzzer. In the real world these guys responded to peer pressure and the assumption that they were the only smart players in baseball. I can’t forgive the Houston Dwarf though. Somehow he seemed to be extra guilty. I suspect him of being the master mind behind the entire thing…

Hicks is no serious option to me. So many questions. The only way Rizzo likely retains any value is if he resigns in NY, where he can keep pulling the ball into the RF seats. Lots of them were foul this year, but if he settled in from day one at first base, I think he could still hit 35-40 HR per year, albeit with a shrinking BA. I wouldn’t go any longer than 2 years for him. There will be other good fielding, decent hitting 1B out there. Someday. Somewhere…
